The American Red Cross of Greater Grand Rapids is offering Empower Me Service Project Planning Internship to area students. The time requirements are a minimum 4- 5 hours per week for one semester. The internship will provide the candidate with a direct experience in everyday management, networking, project planning, and insight into the non-profit sector. By building contacts in the community and planning monthly service projects in all aspects including dates and timing, facilities, volunteers, service hour tracking, networking, meals, and transportation.The student will coordinate to create a weekly schedule. Exceptions to this schedule necessitate advanced warning. Student will serve as liaison between school and the Red Cross to ensure all academic requirements are being met.

The internship will be one semester long and will necessitate a minimum of 8 hours per week.The position requires applicant to be able to plan and coordinate events, have leadership and public speaking skills, and have reliable transportation. The desired candidate will be a student with interest in international campaigns, non-profits, public health campaigns, and a passion for social change.The internship will provide the candidate with a direct experience in everyday management and insight into public health and awareness campaigns, work with international organizations to help alleviate suffering around the world, and gain valuable skills in planning, leadership, and public relations.
